Terms of service
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Who you are dealing with
ReliefCAM is run by Tech Mage (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (details below). When you buy credits, the sale is made by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record, which handles payment, tax and invoicing; Paddle's buyer terms apply to that transaction.
What the service does
ReliefCAM turns an image into G-code for carving a relief on a CNC router, using the machine and tool settings you give it. It can also give you the relief as an STL file: a 3D model for use in other software or on a 3D printer. One credit pays for one generated job or one STL file.
What we check, and what we promise
Before you can download a file:
- every move in it is checked against a fixed set of safety rules — rapid moves only above the work, feeds and spindle speeds inside your machine's limits, every move inside your machine's travel and the piece's bounds, and lines short enough for your controller; and
- the whole toolpath is cut in a simulation and compared with the relief you asked for. A job whose simulation shows the tool cutting into the relief beyond its tolerance fails and returns its credit instead of giving you the file.
If a file we gave you breaks one of those rules, that is our fault, and we will return the credit and fix the fault.
An STL file is not checked in this way. It is a model of the relief, not a toolpath: it has no machine, tool or moves in it, so there is nothing to simulate. It matches the relief shown in the 3D preview when you downloaded it, at the same or a slightly lower resolution. If you cut it using other software, that software's checks are the ones that apply.
What we cannot check
Some things are outside the software, and they are yours:
- Your machine profile and tool measurements. The file follows the numbers you enter. If they are wrong — a wrong work area, a wrong tool diameter — the file will be wrong too, and no simulation can tell.
- Your machine, your stock and your workholding. A correct toolpath into a workpiece that moves, or on a machine that is out of square, can still go wrong.
- Your start and end G-code. Anything you type there is copied into the file exactly as written and is not checked.
- Running it safely. Run each new file with the Z zero set correctly, the tool well above the work, and a hand on the feed hold.
Your account and credits
- One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself.
- New accounts get free credits once per email address, including after an account is deleted. The one exception: an account whose email address is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days, and signing up again with that address gets free credits again.
- Credits never expire and belong to the account that bought them.
- A job or STL file that fails for any reason returns its credit. Refunds of purchases are in our refund policy.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
Carve rewards. If you carve something from a file ReliefCAM made for you, you can send us photos of the result, and a video if you like, and we will add free credits to your account once a person has checked it: currently 10 credits for photos and 10 more with a video you let us share. We reward honest results, good or bad. One reward per job and up to three per account, for verified accounts only; we may decline a submission that is not a carve from a ReliefCAM job, and we will tell you why. Credits you earn this way work like credits you buy but are not refundable. If you give us permission, we may use your photos or video on our website, social media and ads, credited by the name you give or not at all, and always marked as a customer carve shared for free credits. You can withdraw that permission at any time by writing to hello@reliefcam.com, and we will stop any new use. We may change or end the program at any time; credits already granted are yours to keep.
Acceptable use
Upload only images you have the right to use. Do not try to break, overload or get around the service's limits, use it to harm others, or sell access to your account. If you do, we may suspend or close the account, and we will tell you why.
Your content
Your images, projects and files are yours. We use them only to run the service for you, keep them private, and delete them as described in our privacy policy.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you and post the change here at least 14 days before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in them takes away a right you have under consumer law that cannot be taken away.
